Protect Your Home, Health, and Wealth With The A-1 Method

Joseph Coupal - Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Our 20 years in the home protection business reveals that nearly ALL homeowners never consider water to be a dire threat to their home and family's safety and stability.  I am not just talking to those of you who live inland.  I am also talking to those of you who live near the ocean, tidal basins, lakes, streams, and rivers.  Those who live near water certainly fear and respects the threat of a wall of water that can arrive with a storm.  However almost all of you do not have a fear of the trickles of water that can do as much or more damage than the wall.

The A-1 Foundation Crack Repair Method that we employ to protect you, your home, and your family is extensive.  Please take a moment to consider the four “foundational” processes that we use to protect you:

Foundation repair - A broken foundation does more than just cause cracks and make your basement walls bow and lean--it can affect the entire building! In extreme cases, a failing foundation can even render a building unlivable. If you have noticed nails popping, doors and windows not fitting into their frames, sloping floors, and other sudden changes in your home, a sinking or damaged foundation may be the source of your problem.

Basement waterproofing - A common, very effective method of basement waterproofing is the sump pump. We install a sump pump and then build a trench pitched toward the pump along the interior perimeter of the basement. We fill the trench with large perforated pipe and then cover it with a patch of concrete. This pipe redirects floodwater to the pump and then safely out of your house.

Foundation waterproofing - The installation of a hydrophobic membrane around the interior or exterior of your foundation walls is another way to eradicate wet basements. This practice is varied and is the most common method used in new home construction.  The problem is that the quality of foundation waterproofing varies with the quality of the builder.  We see quality of work that ranges from superior to useless attempts that never deserved to pass inspection.  Our method involves carefully excavate the land surrounding your existing home followed by the installation of an exterior membrane. Foundation waterproofing is an especially good idea if you live in an area with a high water table or frequent storms.

Mold remediation - All of the aforementioned basement and foundation protection methods help prevent the collection of standing water and deter both water damage and the unhealthy effects of mold and mildew.  Should previous water damage introduce active mold and mildew to you personal residence or commercial building space, we will eradicate it for you quickly and permanently.  Mold is not only unattractive and destructive, but it can also cause a variety of health disorders and diseases, including asthma, certain cancers, and even death!  Annual inspections for mold are absolutely one of the kindest things you can do for your family.

Your basement is place where water simply does not belong.  Let’ put the A-1 method to work for you!
